How We Do It…Program Descriptions & Services:

Basic Skills Program  provides basic education and development skills for children in kindergarten through twelfth grade. 

Saturday Academy in Mathematics (SAM) is a community effort to improve the chances for classroom success.

Teen Pregnancy Prevention Initiative helps to reduce the number and percentage of pregnant and parenting teens through comprehensive youth programming that includes research-based curricula and comprehensive youth development activities that help to delay initial sexual experiences among teens; and reduce incidents of risky behavior that leads to teen pregnancy.

Summer Basic Skills Development  is an eight-week session designed to give children in kindergarten through eighth grade remedial help in a different educational setting.

Summer Recreational Program  has an eight-week tract, which includes indoor and outdoor sports recreation for children kindergarten through eighth grade.

Holiday Camps  render a safe environment and reinforcement of academic skills during Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Break.

Keep A Child in School  provides an on-going source of clothing, uniforms and shoes  for school age children.

Baton Rouge Reads  consist of  members of the Baton Rouge business community and AmeriCorps* VISTA assisting students with reading activities.

Toys for Tots  contribute toys and games in December.

Enrichment Activities  include guest speakers on topics such as anger management,  parent and authority relationships, life style enrichments, proper diet and exercise, and field trips.

Transportation  is provided, in a limited area, for children and senior citizens.
